The OMN is a cohesive group of Ottawa manufacturing business professionals who share one common goal and one universal requisite to meet the real challenges inherent to a global playing field: manufacturing sector growth, profitability, and sustained viability through introduction to, and application of advanced technologies, contemporary techniques, and time-proven principles of excellence in manufacturing.


Mandate

One Unified Objective
On behalf of the Ottawa manufacturing community and in concert with the unified objectives of its body of members, the OMN provides ongoing, relevant, timely, and up-to-date information, ideas and solutions specifically geared to the concrete challenges faced by the manufacturing sector. Information and programs cover all aspects of manufacturing from design and production to lifecycle management.


One Collective Destination
Information is provided to membership via communiqués, networking, and special events specifically designed to help foster continuous improvement, innovation, and quality in operational and organizational manufacturing processes – information, best practice principles, ideas, and solutions to establish, increase, and sustain manufacturing competitiveness in the global economy for the 21st century and beyond.

Potent Practices, Principles, and Policies     
The OMN promotes a thoroughly supportive and accessible networking environment that imparts knowledge and provides mechanisms for resource sharing among local manufacturers, related organizations, and educational institutions to establish and encourage:

  • The exchange and implementation of best practice principles, strategies, and key plans that support continuous enterprise improvement through effective organizational policies and procedures designed to enhance product quality and global competitiveness

  • Awareness of the technological innovation inherent to the Ottawa region’s manufacturing sector
