The OMN delivers a program of events from September through to May.

Each month we have a lunchtime meeting that provides an excellent opportunity for networking and learning by listening to a presentation germain to manufacturing.

In addition, we hold a number of seminars and workshops designed to meet current needs and highlight topics of interest.

To make sure our program is relevant to the current manufacturing climate we survey our members on a yearly basis to obtain their ideas, issues of concern and subjects of particular interest. In setting up the program, we try to provide as many local training and development opportunities as we can so local companies will not have to incur travel costs.

Participation is key to the success of the OMN member companies, as well the OMN itself. It is the feedback from our member companies that drives the activities of the Network.

All employees of OMN member companies, as well as our individual members, are invited to make use of the member privileges of the OMN, including reduced registration for all OMN events and member-only special interest group participation.

To keep informed about upcoming events we would encourage you to register online to begin receiving the OMN's monthly newsletter.

OMN Networking Session #5 for 2009/10

Five best practices of effective leaders

In this very interactive session, Carlos Fox will share five best practices that are common among very effective leaders: You will explore how these leaders (1) build the best possible team of direct reports; (2) are the Chief Priority Officer of their business and personal life to achieve focus and balance in their life; (3) strive to be master communicator in all they do; (4) become more self aware to lead others and (5) use “Third Opinions” to reduce their risk and make better decisions. He will focus on engaging the group in a discussion around the backdrop of these five areas of leadership effectiveness. You will walk away with some easy to apply ideas, actions and tools that would increase your personal effectiveness as a leader.

Carlos Fox is an executive coach with over 4000 hours of one-to-one coaching sessions with CEO and Key executives.  Carlos is Chair of four TEC (The Executive Committee) peer groups of CEOs and Key Executives in the Capital Region.  His coaching programs are designed to increase the effectiveness and enhance the lives of executives. Carlos’ clients and group members become better leaders, make better decisions and lead better lives.
